She is a recluse, gets very nervous around guys, and has a secret that may end her relationship with Grant forever.

Harlow is the daughter of a very famous rock star. Grant is rich, works for his dads construction company, and loves Harlow. If you like soap opera’s, over the top reality TV shows, or Tell a Novella’s than this series is for you. Lastly, I am aware that this is YA fictional contemporary romance, which means it reads like a soap opera, so I should expect it I guess, but there is so much angst, drama, insecurity. Once again no good reason other than for dramatic effect….which is not reason enough for me. Everyone knows how terrible she is but the male lead hooks up with her….repeatedly (this is not a spoiler it was revealed in previous books in the series). She is over the top bad and dramatic and so mean and nasty that its laughable. Second, up to this point (she gets her own book later) the main villain in this series is a twenty something year old girl named Nanette (or Nan for short). Plus I like my fictional romance to suspend reality not shove it in my face. Now I will admit that the male lead had a recent loss that scared him into some bad decisions but sometimes it feels like that excuse is used just to have an excuse. Here is the reason for three stars: First, I have a pet peeve about romance novels that use the male lead’s fear of getting hurt and commitment to keep the couple apart.

So I am a fan of Abbi Glines I have bought and read most of her books, this is good but not a favorite. I usually don’t pay a lot of attention to that but its noticeable enough to mention. It’s written well for the most part but every now and then there is a missing or wrong word in a sentence thats a little distracting. Ok so this is a full length book in the Rosemary Beach series by Abbi Glines.
